Transactions

The Transactions module lets you monitor all Amazon-related fees, adjustments, ads costs, and service payments in one place, so you always have a clear picture of your financial activity.

This section is divided into two main views:

  • Period Overview – analyse one time window in detail.

  • Monthly Comparison – compare two different months side-by-side.

Subpage A: Period Overview

The Period Overview tab combines a visual breakdown of expenses with a detailed, categorized table of all transactions for the selected time range.

Transactions overview with expense chart and period summary

Top widgets

At the top of the page you see two main widgets:

  • Expense Breakdown (chart) A donut chart showing your Total Expenses for the selected period, broken down by expense category. Each color represents a type of cost, for example:

    • Product Ads

    • Adjustments

    • Service Fees

    • Debt Recovery

  • Period Summary A numeric summary of the same period, including:

    • Total Expenses – overall amount spent in the selected time range.

    • Total Transactions – number of individual entries.

    • Top Expense Types – list of the main categories and their total amounts, ranked from highest to lowest.

These widgets give you an instant view of how much you are spending and where your money goes before you dive into the details.

Transaction table

The lower part of the screen shows the full transaction table, grouped by type (Product Ads, Adjustment, Service Fee, Debt Recovery, etc.). You can expand or collapse each group to focus on a specific category.

For each transaction you see:

  • Date Fetched – when the transaction was imported from Amazon into SellerMagnet.

  • Fee Type – the main type of financial movement (Product Ads, Service Fee, Adjustment, Debt Recovery, …).

  • Adjustment Type – a more specific description, such as Coupon Participation Fee, Coupon Performance Fee, Subscription, Return Postage Charge, etc.

  • Fee Date – the date on which Amazon applied the fee or adjustment.

  • Charged Amount – the amount charged (or credited) in the active currency of the selected marketplace.

At the bottom of the table you can change how many rows are shown per page and navigate between pages.

Filters and search

On the top bar of the table you can refine what you see:

Top navigation bar of the Transactions module with time range selector and search bar
  • Time-range selector – choose presets such as Last 30 Days, This Month, or a Custom Range to analyse a specific window (e.g., tax period or billing month).

  • Search bar – search by keyword to quickly find:

    • a given transaction type (e.g., “Subscription”, “Return Postage”),

    • a fragment of an invoice ID,

    • or any text contained in the adjustment description.

Use the Show zero-balance transactions toggle to include or hide entries that don’t affect your balance, depending on whether you need a very clean view or a full audit trail.

Subpage B: Monthly Comparison

The Monthly Comparison tab lets you compare two different months side-by-side, both visually and in detail, to understand how your expenses evolved over time.

Selecting months

At the top of the Monthly Comparison view you will find:

  • Two month selectors – one on the left and one on the right, each representing a month you want to analyse (for example, November 2025 vs October 2025).

  • A Compare button – after selecting the two months, click Compare to load the chart and the detailed breakdown for each month.

If you have not run a comparison yet, the page shows a short message inviting you to select two months to start the analysis.

Comparison chart

After clicking Compare, a bar chart appears:

Bar chart comparing expenses by category between the two selected months.

The chart shows:

  • One bar for each selected month.

  • Colors representing the same expense categories used in Period Overview (Adjustments, Product Ads, Service Fees, Debt Recovery, etc.).

  • The total amount for each category in each month, so you can visually see:

    • which month had higher or lower costs overall,

    • which expense types increased or decreased.

Hovering over a bar segment (in the app) reveals the exact amount for that expense type and month.

Detailed monthly breakdown

Below the chart you see two tables, one for each selected month (left and right). Each table contains the same columns as the Period Overview transaction table:

  • Date Fetched

  • Adjustment Type (grouped by fee type)

  • Fee Date

  • Charged Amount

Within each month:

  • Transactions are grouped by category (Product Ads, Service Fee, Adjustment, etc.).

  • You can expand/collapse each group to focus on specific costs.

  • The Charged Amount column lets you confirm the totals shown in the chart and drill down to the individual entries behind each category.

Typical use cases

  • Month-over-month cost control – compare advertising, service fees, and adjustments between two months (for example, when evaluating a new campaign or a fee change).

  • Budget vs. reality – verify whether a month stayed within your planned budget by comparing it with a reference month.

  • Seasonality analysis – measure how promo periods, Q4, or sales campaigns impact your expenses versus a “normal” month.

By switching between Period Overview and Monthly Comparison, you can move from a single-period audit view to a true month-over-month analysis, keeping your Amazon costs under tight control.
