Using the Extension for Sourcing

Workflow: Online Arbitrage

  1. Browse a retail website (e.g., a clearance sale page).

  2. Find a product of interest.

  3. Open the same product on Amazon (search by name or scan the barcode with a mobile app).

  4. The extension overlay appears immediately with profitability data.

  5. If the ROI meets your criteria, add the product to your sourcing list.

  6. Move to the next product: no tab switching needed.

Workflow: Competitor Analysis

  1. Navigate to a competitor's Amazon Storefront.

  2. Browse their product catalog.

  3. Click into any listing: the extension shows whether you could profitably compete.

  4. Check seller count and BuyBox share to assess competitive intensity.

Workflow: Wholesale List Validation

  1. Open your wholesale supplier's catalog (often as a spreadsheet).

  2. For each product, search the ASIN on Amazon.

  3. The extension provides instant go/no-go data on each listing.

  4. Mark qualifying products and export your filtered list.

chevron-right⚠️ Common Mistakes to Avoidhashtag
Mistake
Why It Hurts

Not logging into the extension after install

The panel shows "Login required" instead of data

Forgetting to set your VAT rate

Profit calculations are inflated because VAT is not deducted

Using the extension on non-Amazon sites

The extension only activates on amazon.* domains

Ignoring seller count data

A great ROI means nothing if 30 sellers are already competing

Not updating the extension

Older versions may miss fee structure changes from Amazon

## ✅ Best Practices

  1. Set your default VAT rate immediately after installation: This ensures every profitability calculation is accurate from day one.

  2. Use keyboard shortcuts: The extension supports quick-toggle shortcuts. Check the settings panel for available bindings.

  3. Combine with the dashboard Sourcer: For deeper analysis (BSR history charts, BuyBox share trends, full offers table), click the "Open in SellerMagnet" link in the extension panel to jump directly to the full Sourcer dashboard.

  4. Keep the extension updated: Enable Chrome's auto-update feature so you always have the latest fee tables and data algorithms.

  5. Review the eligibility flag: Before sourcing a product, always confirm the green eligibility checkmark. Gated categories require Amazon approval that can take days or weeks.
