Offer Watch

📋 Overview

Offer Watch keeps an eye on the other sellers competing on your catalogue. It regularly checks the offers on your listings and tells you who else is selling them, who holds the Buy Box, and when anything changes - a new seller appears, someone undercuts your price, a listing gets suppressed, or a competitor withdraws.

It answers two questions that are otherwise a manual, ASIN-by-ASIN chore:

  • Who is on my listings right now? A full roster of competing sellers - Merchant ID, storefront name, which of your ASINs they carry, and how often they win the Buy Box.

  • What just changed? A live feed of offer events, plus email alerts so you hear about a hijacker or an undercut without watching Seller Central all day.

Where the data comes from: Offer Watch polls the live offers on your listings on a rolling schedule (checking your busier, contested listings more often). It builds a baseline of who is on each listing the first time it runs, then reports changes against that baseline. It reads the offers directly, the same way the Repricer does.

Offer Watch vs the Competitor Tracker. Offer Watch covers your whole catalogue automatically - every ASIN you sell. To track an ASIN you do not sell (a competitor's) with your own thresholds, use the Competitor Tracker. The Overview tab links to it under Open Competitor Tracker.

🔍 Where to find it

Offer Watch is in the sidebar with a binoculars icon, just above Lost & Found. While the module is in early access, the menu shows an hourglass badge and an "Offer Watch (Waitlist)" tooltip. It is also linked from the Competitor Tracker, the Listing Manager, and the Settings integrations list.

At the top of the page a hero card reads "Every other seller on your catalogue" / "Who they are, what they charge, and what changed.", with an All marketplaces filter (narrowed to the marketplaces you actually sell on, and remembered between visits) and a freshness stamp: "Checked {time} ago", often followed by "· next in {time}", or "Not checked yet" before the first check. Below it are three tabs: Overview, Competitor Sellers, and Settings.

📡 Overview tab

The summary card

One card sums up your position:

  • The hero number is your contested listings - listings (one product on one marketplace) with at least one other seller - shown as "{n} contested listings of {n} watched". Under it, a verdict: "Nobody else is on your listings right now", "{n} products, across {n} marketplaces", or "{n} products with another seller on them".

  • "Buy Box, right now" - a three-part bar for your listings: You hold it, A competitor holds it, No winner recorded.

  • Five chips that jump to the Competitor Sellers tab pre-filtered: Holds your Buy Box, Expanding, Amazon Retail, Active, Authorized. Click an active chip again to clear it.

  • Three quiet figures: Sellers (with "{n} in one country only" when you sell in several), You hold ("of {n} listings"), and Buy Box losses over the selected window or all time.

The "What changed" feed

Below the card is the event feed, titled What changed with a live "· {n} events" count. Its toolbar:

Control
What it does

Search

"Search seller, ASIN or product" - narrows the feed as you type.

Counter chips

{n} Buy Box lost, {n} new sellers, {n} suppressed, {n} sellers left - counted over the selected window. Click one to show only those events; click again to clear.

Window

24h / 7d / 30d / All (default 7d). Drives both the chips and the list.

Event type

All changes, any single event type, or Suppressed (Buy Box or listing).

Columns

Show or hide feed columns. Locked columns are marked "always". Saved as your default view; Reset restores it. Exports use the columns ticked here, in this order.

Export

CSV or Excel of the feed. Capped at 500 rows - if more matched, a toast reads "Exported the first {n} of {total} events. Narrow the window or the type to get the rest."

When you arrive from a seller's History action, a scope bar reads "Showing only {seller}" with a Clear button.

The feed is a table. Its columns:

Column
What it shows

Event

The event label, plus a Critical badge on the most serious ones.

Seller

The other party. For Buy Box events it says who: "to {seller}" on a loss, "back from {seller}" on a win.

Product

Thumbnail and name.

What changed

The before-and-after: "You {yours} · them {theirs}" with "{gap}% below", "listed at {price}", "was at {price}", "{n} left · alerts under {n}", "won at {price}", "You hold the Buy Box again", "No offer is winning the Buy Box right now", and so on.

Your stock

"you had {n} in stock" or "you were out of stock" at the time (with "(reading of {when})" when the reading is older). Shown for Buy Box lost, Buy Box suppressed, and listing suppressed events.

ASIN

Click the ASIN to open the ASIN drill-down; the ↗ icon opens it on Amazon.

Mkt

A country flag tag - hover for the marketplace name and token.

When

Relative time; the absolute time on hover.

Sent

sent or queued - whether the alert has already gone out.

The feed is paged (25 / 50 / 100 / 250 rows).

Empty vs error: before anything has changed, the feed reads "Nothing has changed on your catalogue yet." With a filter or chip active and nothing matching, it reads "No changes match this filter in the selected window. Clear the filter or widen the window." A temporary loading problem shows a distinct error card instead - so an empty feed always means "no changes", never "something broke".

👥 Competitor Sellers tab

Competitor Sellers

This is the roster: every seller competing on your catalogue, one row each. The tab label carries a live count badge of the sellers matching your current view and search.

View tabs and toolbar

Five counted view tabs slice the roster: All, Holding your Buy Box, Expanding, Amazon Retail, and Withdrawn. Sellers who have left live only in Withdrawn - they never appear inside All.

Control
What it does

Search

"Search seller, Merchant ID or ASIN". Typing a 10-character ASIN switches to a per-ASIN view with a scope bar reading "Showing only sellers on {asin}".

Columns

Show or hide columns; saved as your default view.

Export

Two grains, each as CSV or Excel: Sellers (the visible rows and visible columns, in table order) and Sellers x ASINs (one row per seller and listing; withdrawn rows are included only when you are on the Withdrawn view). All timestamps in exports are converted to your local time, so the file agrees with the screen.

Ticking rows opens a bulk bar - "{n} selected" - with Mark authorized, Remove authorization, and Clear selection. If some rows fail, a toast reports "{n} of {total} could not be updated."

A colour legend under the table explains the row tints: Holds one of your Buy Boxes, Expanding: took new listings of yours since the watch began, Amazon Retail, recognised from the name, Authorized, Withdrawn.

Columns

Click a header to sort by Seller, Status, Buy Box wins, Deepest undercut, Your ASINs, Marketplaces, Feedback, Lowest price, First seen, or Last seen. FBA / FBM does not sort. Every column except the locked ones can be hidden from the Columns menu.

Column
What it shows

Seller

Storefront name (linked to the storefront), with the Merchant ID and the country flags they trade on underneath.

Status

See below.

Buy Box wins

How many of your listings they currently hold the Buy Box on.

Deepest undercut

Their sharpest price gap against you, as "{gap}% below".

Your ASINs

How many of your ASINs they carry - click to open the seller drill-down.

Marketplaces

How many marketplaces they compete on (hidden by default).

FBA / FBM

Their offers split by fulfilment, as two tags: FBA n and FBM m.

Feedback

Their seller feedback as "{pct}% (count)".

Lowest price

The lowest price they offer across your listings (hidden by default).

First seen

When they first appeared on your catalogue.

Last seen

When they were last observed.

The list is capped at 1000 rows with the notice "showing the first 1000; refine with search or export for the full list". If no other sellers are found, it reads "No other sellers found on your catalogue" - which, for a brand-registered or private-label catalogue, is normal and healthy.

Status values

The Status chip is one of five, in this order of precedence:

Status
Meaning

Authorized

One of your own distributors or authorized resellers - never alerts.

Withdrawn

No longer on any of your listings.

Amazon Retail

Recognised from a storefront name starting with "Amazon". Amazon sells your ASINs directly - not a hijacker, and cannot be removed.

Holds your Buy Box

Currently holding the Buy Box on at least one of your listings (the only red status).

Active

Competing on your catalogue.

Any non-withdrawn seller who has moved onto new listings of yours since the watch began also carries an expanding sub-badge.

Row actions

Each row ends in a ⋮ menu:

  • History - scopes the Overview feed to this seller and switches to it.

  • Show their ASINs - opens the seller drill-down.

  • Open storefront - only shown when the storefront link is a valid Amazon address.

  • Mark authorized / Remove authorization.

Seller drill-down

"Offers by {seller}" opens with a recap head: the seller (linked), Merchant ID, country flags, status chip, "{n} of your ASINs", the marketplace name if there is only one, and their feedback. On the right: CSV and Excel export buttons and a History button.

Chips at the top filter the rows: All, Buy Box held, Undercutting you, You are ahead, Not against you, and Withdrawn (when there are any). A hint explains that muted rows are ASINs where you have no live offer in that country - the merchant sits on the product, not against you.

One row per (ASIN, marketplace, condition, fulfilment), sorted fights-first - Buy Box holders, then undercuts, then the rest:

Column
What it shows

Product

Thumbnail, name, ASIN (drill-down button and ↗), your SKU, and the item condition when it is not "new".

Marketplace

Shown only when the seller spans more than one marketplace; with a single one, the country moves into the recap head.

Situation

One of Holds your Buy Box, Undercutting you, You are ahead, Not on your listing here, or Withdrawn - each with a tooltip.

FBA / FBM

Their fulfilment on this offer.

Their price

The competitor's price, with "incl. {ship}" when shipping applies.

Your price

Your price on the same listing, or "not listed here".

vs you

"{gap}% below", "{gap}% above", or "same price" - shipping included on both sides.

Stock

What the listing exposes as available. Amazon caps this, so treat it as "at least".

Last seen

When this offer was last observed.

The export writes exactly the chip-filtered rows on screen.

Why the same seller can appear on several rows for one ASIN. A seller who competes on the same product across five marketplaces (say DE, FR, IT, BE, NL) legitimately shows up as five rows - one per marketplace - often with different prices. That is why the Marketplace column appears as soon as a seller spans more than one country: those rows are the same product in different markets, not duplicates.

ASIN drill-down

Open it from an ASIN anywhere on the page. The head shows the product, its ASIN, "{n} marketplaces" with a flag per marketplace (each linking to that country's Amazon page), plus CSV / Excel and Show in feed (which searches the feed for that ASIN).

"Across your marketplaces" lists one row per country: Marketplace · Buy Box · Your price · Cheapest competitor · Sellers · Your stock · Last check. The Buy Box cell reads You, the competitor's name, or Nobody recorded; the cheapest competitor shows the price, the gap, and the seller, or No other seller; the last check reads "Checked {time} ago · next in {time}", "Last check failed ({status}) - showing data from {when}", or "Not checked yet". Countries with a rival open by default.

Click a country to see every offer there: Seller (your own row is labelled Your offer) · FBA / FBM · Lowest price · vs you · Stock · Feedback, with a Buy Box chip on the holder and a Withdrawn chip on offers that have gone. If there is nobody else: "Only you are on this listing here."

Below the tables, "What happened here" is a timeline of this ASIN's events - age, label, the other party, the detail, your stock at the time, and whether the alert was sent or queued.

⚙️ Settings tab

Checks we run for you

Some changes are things Offer Watch finds by checking your listings once a day. Because they are only looked for daily, they cannot arrive instantly - so this whole group is one switch, not a schedule: "Tell me what changed on my listings", delivered in your daily report. When it is off: "Off - we keep checking and recording, but none of these will email you."

The switch covers six classes:

  • A new seller appears on your listing

  • A seller withdraws

  • You win or lose the Buy Box

  • Someone undercuts your price

  • Your review rating drops

  • You get a new review

What Amazon reports to us

Other changes are pushed to us by Amazon the moment they happen, so you choose how fast each reaches you. This section is a matrix with one row per class and four choices: Instant, Hourly, Daily, or Off. Read down the Instant column to see what will email you straight away. A live line above it sums up "{n} reach you instantly · {n} in the hourly report · {n} in the daily report · {n} off".

The five classes:

  • Your listing content changes (needs the Amazon subscription below)

  • A listing or Buy Box is suppressed

  • Out of stock

  • Low stock warning

  • Order refunds

Setting anything other than Off on Your listing content changes while the subscription is not active first asks you to confirm, and leaves the row on Off until Amazon accepts.

Summary report

Everything set to Hourly or Daily above is collected and sent together on this schedule: Send (Every hour, Every day, Once a week, or Never) on a weekday (weekly only) at an hour. The hour field disappears for Hourly and Never.

Listing change watching

Amazon has to push listing changes to us before we can alert on them, so this section asks Amazon directly and shows what is really switched on: "Amazon is sending us listing changes", "Not switched on", "Only partly switched on", "Could not check with Amazon", "No Amazon account connected", or "Checking with Amazon..." while it loads. The button reads Watch listing changes or Stop watching.

Enabling it asks for confirmation. The dialog "Ask Amazon to send listing changes?" explains that the subscription is per seller account (there is no per-ASIN option; we filter on our side), that it covers title, images, bullet points, and A+ content on listings where you are the brand owner, and that switching it off again unsubscribes you at Amazon. Confirm with Subscribe at Amazon. If Amazon refuses, Save tells you so and resets the switch.

Limits

  • "Only tell me about undercuts of at least {n} %" (default 2) - below this we stay quiet, so ten cents never becomes an email.

  • "Never send more than {n} instant emails per day" (default 15, up to 500) - anything over the limit rolls into your next digest instead of being dropped.

Authorized sellers

Your own distributors: they stop counting as hijackers and never trigger an alert. This is a row editor - each row is a Merchant ID, the Marketplace it trades on, and the Seller name we look up there, with an × to remove and an Add seller button. Pasting a comma- or space-separated list splits it into one row per ID.

Each row reports its lookup: "Looking up the seller name…", the resolved name with its source ("Looked up on Amazon" / "Seen on your catalogue"), "Name not found on this marketplace", "Pick a marketplace to look up the name.", "Could not check this Merchant ID right now." (with Try again), "This does not look like an Amazon Merchant ID.", or "This Merchant ID is already in the list." Malformed IDs are never saved.

Where to find a Merchant ID. A Merchant ID looks like A1B2C3D4E5F6G. In Seller Central it is the Merchant Token under Settings → Account Info → Business Information; it is also the seller= value in a storefront link. Authorization covers your whole catalogue - the marketplace is only where we look up the name.

Who receives the emails

You, the account owner is always included. Add colleagues in the free-text field (comma-separated), then Save. Send test email mails a sample alert to your saved recipients - so save first if you have just added someone. Success reads "Sample alert sent to {n} recipient(s)."

Pause and save

Pause Offer Watch keeps your data and settings but stops all checks and emails. A sticky bar at the bottom shows an Unsaved changes marker, a status line, Discard, and Save settings. After saving you may also see partial notes such as "Settings saved, but the report schedule could not be stored yet." or "Saved, but Amazon refused the listing-change subscription - the switch was reset. Try again in a moment."

🚦 Getting started

1

Enable Offer Watch

The first time you open the page, a full-page card reads "Start watching your catalogue" - "We will take a baseline of every seller currently on your {count} listings." - with an Enable Offer Watch button. (If the page instead says "Offer Watch is not switched on yet" or asks you to connect an Amazon account, follow that prompt first.)

2

Wait for the baseline

While it reads your catalogue for the first time, the page shows "Building your baseline". Events only fire after the baseline is built - this prevents your feed from filling up with "new seller" alerts for sellers who were already there.

3

Mark your authorized sellers

On the Competitor Sellers tab (or in Settings), mark any distributors and authorized resellers as Authorized so they never alert. Do this early - it keeps your feed clean from day one.

4

Tune what reaches you

In Settings, switch on "Tell me what changed on my listings" for the daily checks, and pick Instant / Hourly / Daily / Off for each of the Amazon-pushed classes. Set your undercut threshold, confirm the listing-change subscription if you want it, save, and send a test email to confirm delivery.

Alert emails and other pages link straight into the right spot:

Link
Opens

?tab=settings

The Settings tab (the footer of every alert email).

?seller={merchant id}

Competitor Sellers with that seller searched (the seller named in a mail).

?asin={ASIN}

Competitor Sellers scoped to that ASIN, with the "Showing only sellers on {asin}" bar.

?event={TYPE}

The Overview feed pre-filtered to that event type (the Listing Manager uses LISTING_CHANGE).

❓ FAQ

How is Offer Watch different from the Repricer?

The Repricer acts - it changes your prices to compete. Offer Watch informs - it tells you who is competing, who holds the Buy Box, and when something changes, so you can decide how to respond (including how to set up the Repricer). They read the same live offer data; one reprices, the other monitors and alerts.

How is Offer Watch different from the Competitor Tracker?

Offer Watch covers every ASIN you sell, automatically. The Competitor Tracker is for ASINs you do not sell - a competitor's product - where you set your own thresholds on price, rank, stock, or listing changes.

"0 competitors" on some listings - is it broken?

No. Brand-registered and private-label listings are often uncontested - you are the only seller, so there is genuinely nothing to report. Competing offers show up on the ASINs you resell, not on products only you list.

Why did I not get alerts right after enabling it?

Offer Watch has to build a baseline first ("Building your baseline"). Until that finishes, it does not know what "changed" - so events only start firing once the baseline exists. This is deliberate, to avoid alerting you about every seller who was already on your listings.

Why can I not get "new seller" alerts instantly?

Because new sellers, withdrawals, Buy Box changes, undercuts, and review changes are things we find by checking your listings once a day - they are not pushed to us by Amazon. That is why they sit behind one daily switch. The classes Amazon pushes in real time (listing changes, suppressions, stock, refunds) are the ones you can set to Instant.

A seller I know and trust keeps appearing - can I mute them?

Yes. Mark them Authorized (on the Competitor Sellers tab or in Settings). Authorized sellers are treated as your own distributors and never generate alerts.

Why does the same competitor show up on several rows for one product?

Because they compete on that product across several marketplaces. Each (ASIN, marketplace, condition, fulfilment) is its own row, and the Marketplace column appears as soon as a seller spans more than one country - so five rows for one seller usually means the same product in five different markets, often at different prices.

I set my summary report for 9am but it arrives at other times.

For now the exact time is saved but not yet applied - reports still go out on the standard hourly and daily boundaries. Your chosen time (in your browser's timezone) will be honored once the sender picks it up.

💡 Tips

  • Mark your authorized sellers first - it is the single biggest thing you can do to keep the feed signal-heavy.

  • Use the Sellers x ASINs export when you need the full "who sells what" picture for a supplier conversation or a brand-protection case.

  • Set the undercut threshold to match your margins - too low and every tiny price move alerts you; too high and you miss real undercutting.

  • Start a seller investigation from the Holding your Buy Box view, then open the drill-down and filter to Undercutting you - that is the shortlist that is actually costing you sales.

  • Pair Offer Watch with the Repricer: watch to understand the competition, reprice to respond to it.
